Ten ways we help
Every engagement has a written scope, a named lead and an agreed finish line. We give an indicative cost range first and confirm the price in writing once the work is scoped.
Rapid commercial diagnostic
For leaders who need a clear view before deciding.
A review of one contract, supplier relationship, procurement or bid: typically 3 to 5 days, fixed scope; indicative fee agreed before work starts. You get a short options paper: what is happening, what each option costs and risks, and what we recommend next.
Supplier costs and price rises
For organisations facing increases they are not sure they should accept.
Your suppliers want more. We look at your largest contracts, check whether each increase is allowed under the contract and justified by the market, and negotiate where there is a case. You get a list of which increases to accept, challenge or refuse, a negotiating plan for each, and agreed changes captured properly in the contract.
For finance and operations leaders, that means fewer unbudgeted increases, a documented position for every one you accept, and a contract record that stands up at audit.
Procurement delivery
For buyers running a competition, from a single contract to a programme.
Requirements, market engagement, route to market, tender documents, evaluation, moderation, award and mobilisation.
Public sector: we work under the Procurement Act 2023, including its notices, assessment summaries and standstill rules, and under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 where a framework, dynamic purchasing system or earlier procurement still runs under them.
Contract and supplier management
For contract owners who cannot see what they are getting.
Baselines, KPIs, performance reviews, remedies, variations, renewals and exit plans. You see what you are paying for, and you have the levers to act.
Contract recovery and supplier failure
For contracts that are late, over budget, out of compliance or at risk because a supplier is struggling.
We stabilise the service, protect your contractual position and set out the options: fix, renegotiate, re-procure or exit. You decide on evidence.
Fractional commercial leadership
For organisations that need senior commercial cover now.
A senior interim or fractional commercial lead for an agreed period and scope: covering a gap, steering a major procurement or setting up a function. Outcomes are agreed on day one. Available directly or through your preferred recruitment agency.
Commercial functions
For organisations building or resetting how they buy and manage contracts.
Policies, procedures, approval routes, standard documents, contract registers, governance and training, built so your team can run them without us.
Negotiation and commercial disputes
For buyers and suppliers with a deal to close or a dispute to settle.
We prepare your position, support negotiations on awards, renewals, price changes and variations, and help resolve commercial disputes. For suppliers, that includes protecting margin and the client relationship through renewals and variations. If a matter needs a solicitor, we tell you early.
Bids and tenders (for suppliers)
For suppliers who want their bids to score, in public and private tenders.
Bid/no-bid decisions, win themes, answer writing, evidence gathering and an evaluator-style review before you submit. Our reviewers have scored bids as buyers, so answers are built against the published criteria and marked the way an evaluation panel would. Our team works in the common e-procurement portals, including Atamis, Bravo and In-tend.
A review gives you each answer marked against the published criteria, with the score we would expect, the gaps that cost marks and the changes that close them.
To get a bid reviewed, email us:
- the tender title and the type of buyer;
- the submission deadline;
- the scoring criteria and word limits;
- which answers you want reviewed.
We confirm conflicts, scope and an indicative fee before you share any documents, and we will sign your NDA, or send ours, first.
Delivery support through the ACS family
For work that needs more than commercial skills.
Programme and PMO, technology and digital, transformation and change, and housing and estates specialists, run by the same lead as your commercial work.
Not sure where to start?
Send us the decision, contract or bid in front of you. We will tell you whether we can help, who would lead the work and an indicative cost range, before you commit to anything.
